Learn How

High impact treatments for your clients.

Learn to use the Nervous System to decrease pain and improve performance.

By listening to what your body is telling you, you have become aware. When we become aware we can then seek to create change. Seeking change by pursuing holistic therapies is a cornerstone in an effective recovery strategy.

When your body feels good, when you can move freely, when your mind is less cluttered, you begin to experience life in ways others may take for granted.

My holistic approach combines neuroscience and pain science with grassroots manual therapy. This unique blending of science and soul creates balance mentally, physically, and emotionally ensuring that you receive treatment unlike any other.

One can’t separate self.

All parts flow seamlessly into the next creating the fluid workings of all that you are. This is wholeness. The essence of what it means to be Holistic.

A vital component in moving forward in your healing journey is learning to understand the nuts and bolts of pain. Pain is as multidimensional and as multifaceted as you are.

Accepting this truth empowers you to get creative in your personal recovery strategy.

Create your recovery strategy.

Your way of living, thinking, and doing is going to greatly influence the results you achieve. What worked for your Mother, Sister, best friend, coworker, or cousin twice removed may not work for you. And vice versa.

All the facets of what makes you you demands a recovery strategy that is unique to you alone.

You need to identify what is important to you and define your treatments goals.

  • Reduce or eliminate painful symptoms.
  • Increase functionality of the painful area.
  • Participate in your preferred activities.

Envisioning these goals will help guide you to your desired outcome. But let’s be real for a moment. You’re not looking to actually reduce or eliminate ‘pain’, increase range of motion, or be more active.

You’re looking to live your life the way you want to live it. You want it. Yesterday. You feel entitled to it. You deserve it.

But you need to make sure that you have realistic expectations when it comes to this healing process.

Measurable Progress: Objective vs Subjective.

In order to be truly successful with your therapeutic interventions you need to understand the difference between Objective and Subjective results.

Objective information is not biased. It’s not influenced by personal feelings or opinions. In therapy it’s what we can see and measure; increased range of motion, fluidity of movement, speed of movement. THIS is how we define our progress and success of treatment in session.

Subjective information is solely based on feelings and opinions. We may increase range, fluidity, and speed of movement, but if you still feel pain it’s entirely subjective. I can’t say you don’t have pain when you feel you obviously do.

Our primary treatment goal is to make objective measurable changes. When you move well, painful symptoms are often greatly reduced or are completely eradicated. What you see happening in session is what will happen in your every day life after the integration process.

In session we will utilize some of the most advanced therapies available.

#ProtecttheHuman.

Nothing happens without the Nervous System being on board. We can’t force change upon the tissues or bully the joint into moving easier.

In order to facilitate lasting change we have to lull the Nervous System into a parasympathetic state, turning down its overprotective nature. Basically creating change that it thinks was all its own idea to begin with.

In our sessions, this is accomplished holistically in 3 ways.

Physically.

Nerve hyper sensitivity is physical, observable, and measurable.

Using numerous branches of motor control studies, we will assess and treat neuroconnectivity issues to reduce or eliminate this sensitivity.

Many believe that it is the most bizarre form of therapy they have ever seen and felt. I believe that’s only the case, because most aren’t walking around with common knowledge of Neurology and it’s functional applications.

In combination with the neuro therapies we will apply gentle manual therapy to nourish the tissue and further desensitize the danger signals.

I will help you understand how to move in more meaningful ways. Fearing or worrying about movements can produce painful movement restrictions. By avoiding those movements the feedback loop keeps spinning through its infinite hamster wheel.

This may sound counterintuitive, but you should actually expose yourself to movements that nudge the edge of pain. Getting yourself to the edge of pain allows you to assess what you’re feeling.

Listen to what your body is telling you and communicate with yourself that there is nothing dangerous going on.

While the Nociceptors are doing their job firing off danger signals to the brain that there is something familiar happening and there may be cause for alarm, you can control the output by noting that there is nothing alarming actually taking place.

You are not being physically attacked. You are not under duress. There is no tissue damage actively happening with these movements. The Danger Will Robinson signals can mellow out.

Normal, safe, every day movements should be recognized as normal, safe, every day movements.

Find activities that you are able to do that are meaningful to you. A large part of treatment and being able to recover from pain is living life the way you can now even if it’s not the same as before. Don’t look back, you’re not going that way. Meet yourself where you’re at.

Mentally.

Be aware of your responses and change your relationship with your pain.

A little known fact is I’m a Certified Life Coach and a student of Mindfulness. These principles are fluidly weaved into treatments.

Coaches aim to motivate, offer emotional support, and create confidence in their clients to break down barriers and strategize to achieve a desired outcome. You move past mental blocks with awareness, acceptance, responsibility, and accountability for your own progress.

Mindset matters. And you need to fuel it in the most positive ways. Do something that nourishes your soul.

Meditate. Walk barefoot in the grass. Bask in the warmth of the sun. Splash in the puddles following an afternoon rain. Curl up with a book and view its pages as a dear old friend. Enjoy a meal with loved ones. Be silly for the sake of being silly. Look up at the vastness of the stars and take in how small we truly are.

Get shiftfaced with your mindset and change your perspective. Stop focusing on your limitations! Shift your focus to what moves you. Take each win, each step in the right direction and celebrate it.

Emotionally.

Whether you are suffering physically or emotionally, your pain is real. We have emotional components entwined within our physical traumas.

Think of the anger and frustration, fear and anxiety, or overwhelm and helplessness that can accompany living in chronic pain. This kaleidoscope of feelings that take over when we least expect it are being driven by the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is consistently measuring what it perceives as safe or dangerous; evaluating past, present, and predicting the future to relay information to the conscious mind. It is regulating and coloring every aspect of our lives without judgment or criticism, without logic or reason. It simply IS.

It takes what it knows or what it thinks it knows and creates these feelings causing the physical body to experience some kind of reaction. The symptomatic output of that reaction or resulting processing can have some truly remarkable links to pain.

My gentle approach focuses on the body where Talk Therapy focuses on the psyche. Bodywork of this nature brings a stillness within the mind, creating a profound effect on how we feel within our body, encouraging completeness.

You are not broken. We are ever shifting people puzzles and have all the pieces available to us to complete the picture. Sometimes we just need to cock our heads a bit to shift the focus to gain a new perspective.

No Gurus. No Dogma. No Nonsense.

There is no miracle cure, no magic potion or pill catapulting you into wellness.

You are the catalyst to your flavor of homeostasis.

Embracing change, acknowledging the triggers, and continuing to address those triggers on your own will empower you to live your life the way you want to.

Listen, I know you’re frustrated and in pain, but be gentle with yourself.

The intensity of your pain, the severity of your trauma, the duration of time it has spanned all need to be factored into the length of time and effort needed to make progress.

Your recovery strategy is dependent upon simple and consistent steps. Small changes add up to big changes. And if these changes are small and easy to incorporate into your life, then they will be effortless to do daily.

My role is to be your guide in this journey. I offer you effective therapy when you need it. I help you identify, gather, and place the pieces needed to view the bigger picture.

To remind you that where you were is not where you are and does not dictate where you will be.

In case it’s not obvious, when you are first injured, it’s best to avoid anything that aggravates it. The tissue needs to mend. We can get started with your recovery strategy when the tissue damage is sufficiently healed and you’ve been cleared by your Doctor.
